No Child Left Behind Report Cards, 2009-10

The No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 requires that test results for reading and mathematics be reported to the public annually. Data are broken down by grade level, subject area, and performance levels for each subgroup. The reports below also include information about teacher quality as defined by NCLB. These reports are provided by the Maine Department of Education based on data sent by the district, the schools, and external testing companies.
The following 2009-10 reports contain data from the 2008-09 School Year:

District Report Card Dr. Carl E. Troutt School
Two-Year Trend Data Ella P. Burr School
  Mattanawcook Junior High School

Data from the 2009-10 school year can be accessed via the Assessment link to the left of this screen. Official NCLB reports reflecting the 2009-10 data will be posted here when they are made available by the Department of Education in 2010-11.
Adequate Yearly Progress
Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) is the term used in the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) of 2001 to describe the amount of academic progress in reading and mathematics expected of each school each year based on state assessments. In Maine, students in Grades 3-8 are tested by a combination of the Maine Education Assessment (MEA)and the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP). Third-year high-school students are assessed by the Maine High School Assessment (MHSA)/SAT. In addition to a required participation rate of 95% and annually increasing peformance targets in reading and mathetics, AYP status is also based on a third indicator: average daily attendance for elementary/middle schools and graduation rate for high schools.
