Learning Packet Update 3/29/2020

March 29, 2020

Dear Staff, Parents, and Community Members:

I want to thank you for your ongoing support and commitment in making our first two weeks of remote learning a success.  I recognize that everyone is juggling numerous worries and responsibilities and it has not been easy.  Although remote learning is not an optimal situation, everyone is giving it their best effort in these unprecedented times.

A special thank you to our staff members for their incredible efforts to stay connected with our students, planning for a different delivery of learning, planning for an extended closure, and for preparing and distributing meals.  It is indeed a team effort!

The Administrative Team has developed a new protocol for distributing learning packets that is safe for families and our employees, while adhering to social distancing norms.  We will distribute learning packets on Tuesday, March 31 from 7:30 – 2:30 at each of our schools.  When you arrive at the school building, we ask that you please remain in your car and a staff member will assist you.

Last week in his daily CDC Coronavirus (COVID-19) update, Dr. Nirav Shah said, "As a state right now, as a country right now, we need a lot of things...but probably above all else right now, what we need is compassion and kindness."  I believe these words apply not only to the state and country, but to our community.  Thank you for your understanding, support and patience in this tremendous time of uncertainty.  Please continue to visit our website frequently for updates.

Sincerely,

Jean Skorapa, Superintendent
