Pre K Programming in RSU 67

Information about RSU 67 Pre K Programming

RSU 67 currently has three Pre K classrooms allowing us to enroll up to 48 Pre K students in our full-day, five days a week program. Each classroom has a certified classroom teacher and at least one paraprofessional to keep an 8 to 1 ratio of students to adults in the room.

Pre K students follow the same calendar as the rest of RSU 67 students. Pre K students can use the transportation services provided to all students in the RSU 67 community. We partner with Child Development Services (CDS) to provide appropriate programming for students who may have an IEP.

Pre K Curriculum - RSU 67 uses the Pre K For ME Curriculum These materials can all be found here.

All students are screened within the first 30 days.

For assessment that is done three times a year, we use the Teaching Strategies Gold program. This assessment system is based on observational data where teachers look for specific early childhood benchmarking skills to determine a student's developmental level aligned to the Maine Early Childhood Guidelines.

Supplemental curriculum resources are Handwriting without Tears to help teach developmentally appropriate letter formation.
