The second-grade Pennies for Angels service learning project provides students with an opportunity to work on some math standards while helping to support a community need during this holiday time.  Students collect change (practicing skip counting and rolling the coins) and support families in need. The project ended today and was a  tremendous success.  ALL the second-graders went to Walmart with the $1100 they had collected and purchased gifts for 43 kids!  Several people at Walmart shared how our students were models of excellent behavior while shopping.  Great job!!
