On March 16th at 6 pm there will be a public hearing to discuss a revolving renovation project that would be used to construct a vestibule for Mattanawcook Academy. This vestibule project would provide an entry way at Mattanawcook Academy that improves safety and ADA compliance.
At the public hearing, we will be able to provide more details about the project and answer any questions. The MA vestibule construction was originally slotted as a capital reserve project for the 2025-2026 school year, but the bids came back much higher than anticipated. The project was put on hold and other funding sources were explored. On January 30, 2026, the district was notified it had been approved to apply for a School Revolving Renovation Fund. If the voters decide to move forward on the April 7th vote, RSU 67 can apply for a loan of $471,200 for the project. Of this amount: 63.29% - $298,222, will be forgiven. The district would be responsible for 36.71% - $172,978, which will be paid back in installments with 0% interest over 5 years.
Please come to the public hearing to ask any questions and provide feedback.
