April 15, 2022

Dear Members of the R.S.U. No. 67 Community,

On April 26, R.S.U. No. 67 will seek voter approval to authorize three school construction projects funded through the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER lll).  The Board of Directors publicly discussed these projects for well over a year.  These projects will provide needed additional space at Ella P. Burr and Mattanawcook Jr. High School to improve the quality of education for students, alleviate long-standing parking issues at Ella P. Burr, allow for expansion of playground space for our youngest students, and address the deteriorating conditions at the district office.

This is an opportunity for the district to complete these building projects at no additional cost to the local taxpayers.  As these funds are time-sensitive, if the projects do not pass in the referendum, the district will lose this opportunity and future construction projects will be at the expense of the taxpayer.  Please vote yes on April 26 for these projects to support our students.

Sincerely,

Jean Skorapa, Superintendent of Schools
