Letters were sent home with current 5th graders and 6th and 7th grade band and chorus members to communicate different information about signing up for music classes at MJHS. The different letters below explain more in detail, but we will need to know from a parent or guardian who is adding and/or dropping band and chorus classes for next school year by May 21st so we can begin to build our school schedule in order to accommodate these classes. We will be adjusting the schedule next year so our band students will not be missing math, science, social studies or ELA to attend band classes.
The following letter is for all 5th graders who might be considering signing up for band or chorus next year. All 6th graders who don't take band have a general music class, but they can also add chorus.
The following letter was sent for any 5th graders who are already participating in band and may want to add chorus for next year. If we don't hear otherwise from a parent or guardian, we will include them in band in 6th grade. If a student wants to add or drop a class, I will need a parent or guardian to email or call with that information.
Students entering 7th and 8th grades can sign up for Chorus, Band, and/or Jazz Band. If they are already in those classes, we will include them next year unless I hear otherwise. If a student wants to add or drop a class, I will need a parent or guardian to email or call with that information.
