We want to introduce Emerson, who belongs to a family in the MJHS neighborhood. She is fed and receives care, but she loves attention from our students and staff. She can often be seen in the student drop-off area in the mornings and after school, and visits during recesses. We ask that you not feed her or other animals on school property to avoid attracting additional animals.
Since cats don't bother with fences or property boundaries, and this one is gentle and friendly, we ask families to discuss any allergies with your student and let your student know if they should not pat the cat. They may also need to know that there is a risk of being scratched.
Thank you for driving slowly through our staff parking lot and drop off area for the safety of our students and Emerson the cat.
