Class of 2021 and Families,

Senior Advisors and administrators have been meeting and discussing how senior activities can be provided while following current Maine CDC guidelines and executive orders.  This document will provide important information for seniors and their families. As of now, the following activities have been approved with the following conditions:

Senior earned day off: Friday, April 16

Any senior who met one benchmark on the SAT examination and currently passing all of their classes will earn one excused absence for Friday, April 16. This means those students may choose to not attend school that day.  Students who are unsure as to whether or not they qualify should check in with the office or their senior class advisors.

Senior Prom: Saturday, May 22, 5-8 pm.

Due to current Maine CDC guidelines, a prom will be provided to Seniors only (no guests).  The prom will take place outside under tents, and entertainment will be provided.  Seniors should wear a mask and dance six feet apart.  The event will be free, and dinner will be provided.  We ask that the community and families take pictures before the event to prevent large social gatherings. Though we recognize that this event is not the traditional prom, we are hopeful that this event can provide a chance for the senior class to gather together, dress up, and enjoy each other’s company.

Class Night: Thursday, June 10, 6pm.

In the event that Thursday, June 10, is a rainy day, Class Night will be postponed for June 11, 6pm.  This event will include the traditional activities: Class History, Class Prophecy, Class Will, etc., but academic awards will also be presented. In addition, scholarships will be read aloud and presented to seniors, and they will walk onto the stage to be recognized as they collect their awards and scholarships from a table.  Due to CDC guidelines, seniors will be seated outside, six feet apart, with masks, and those who attend to support their senior are asked to remain in their vehicles, which will be parked facing the stage.  At this time, we are limiting the number of vehicles to one per senior.

Graduation: Sunday, June 13, 5:30 (Rain or Shine)

Due to Maine CDC guidelines, graduation will be very similar to Class Night. Students will march and be seated six feet apart with masks.  This event will include the traditional activities: speeches, awarding of the diplomas, but scholarships will not be announced since they are awarded during Class Night.  Family and friends are to remain in their vehicles, which will be parked facing the stage.  At this time, we are limiting the number of vehicles to one per senior.
