Mattanawcook Jr. High School

The Yearbook club has worked hard all year, taking pictures and creating memories and it's almost time for the yearbooks to be delivered to the Junior High. We do still have a limited number of copies available for sale. These will be sold on a first come-first serve basis. If you would like one, please send a check made out to MJHS. for $25. Please do not send cash with your student. I will provide you with a receipt upon payment and a book will be given to your child when they arrive. Today's, Friday May 17th, A Team Baseball practice has been cancelled.

As part of our district strategic plan, we will be conducting a school climate survey for students, families, and staff. The survey should take no more than 10 minutes to complete and is anonymous. The data collected will be used to identify perceptions of the school climate. District and school staff will use the results to inform next steps. Each school has a unique survey link. Due to busing, the B Softball/Baseball will leave the school at 3:30. The games will begin at approximately 5:15 in Dexter at the Ridge View Community School. We are thankful for the bus drivers stepping up to help us out.

Unfortunately, after exhausting all possible viable transportation options to today's meet at Cohen, MJHS will not be attending. Instead, they will practice 2:30-4.

The MJHS baseball game against Warsaw today, 5/7, will be played at Manson Park in Pittsfield. The softball game will be played at the middle school. GO BOBCATS!

8th grade families, 5/3/24: Your students are bringing home an envelope containing last assembly tickets and a letter. Please ask your student for this important information. If students are absent, they will receive them when they return next week. If your family consists of two separate parent households, your student will bring one set of tickets to the home they are staying at today and we will mail the other set to the other household. (We have asked your student which household to mail it to.) The letter provides information about the date, time, number of tickets, and the process and timeline if you want to request additional tickets. PLEASE NOTE: There was an error on the tickets. All MJHS athletic contests and practices are cancelled for today, May 2, 2024 due to the incoming rain. Make up dates for the baseball and softball games will be finalized within the next 24 hours. GO BOBCATS!

Due to driver shortages, the B team baseball and softball games for tomorrow, 4/30, at Sedomocha will be played at 5pm, with the bus departing MJHS at 3:30pm. Thank you to our transportation department and Sedomocha for being flexible.

Last night the MJHS track team went to Old Town to compete in their first meet of the season. We had lots of top 6 finishers which is a wonderful start to the season! We have had an increasing number of students who arrive with large non-water beverages and not enough time to consume them in the cafeteria before classes begin. We ask families to remind their students that MJHS only allows water to be carried throughout the day and as a beverage in classrooms. Students who do not finish non-water beverages before going to class in the morning can finish them at lunch if they can be stored in their locker.

Practices for A baseball, B baseball, and B softball are cancelled for today, April 24. A Team Softball will practice in the gym from 2:45-4:15. GO BOBCATS

The track meet at Old Town has been postponed until tomorrow, 4/25 at 4pm. Due to transportation issues, the bus will be leaving MJHS at 12:30pm. GO BOBCATS!

On April 6th, the MJHS wrestlers competed in their Pinetree championship. This is what they worked hard for all season, and placed 4th out of 26 teams; four of our wrestlers reached the podium! Undefeated all season (20-0) was Ryan Thibodeau, earning 1st place at 117. Going 17-3 for the season was Max Fitch, earning 1st at 170. Tyler Smith went 17-3 for the season and placed 3rd. Ashton Dill went 15-5 at 130 for the season, placing 3rd. Gabe Lazore went 11-9 at 137 for the season and placed 4th at the championship meet. We are proud of the dedication and hard work this team has put in all season. GO BOBCATS!

REMINDER! Due to the early dismissal on Monday, 4/8, there are NO AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES for RSU #67. GO BOBCATS!

Due to the impending storm, all schools and offices in RSU 67 are closed on Thursday, April 4th, 2024.

UNIFIED UPDATE: The Unified Basketball team will be traveling to Brewer for a 3:30pm game on 3/27. We will leave MJHS at 2pm. On Wednesday, April 3, immediately after school, there will be a pizza social in the MJHS cafeteria for all Unified team members and their family. GO BOBCATS!
