The MA boys soccer team are at Central tonight, Thursday, September 26. In a attempt to beat the rain, they will start the game at 3:30 The MA Field Hockey will be at Dexter today as well, they too will start earlier in an attempt to beat the rain. Plan on the game starting between 3:30 and 3:45.

The fun begins for the MA athletic teams on Saturday as all the teams will be busy with preseason events. The football team will host JB and Houlton at 11:00, the FH team will travel to Hampden for an 8:45 start, the BS team will travel to Dover for an 9:00 start, and the GS team will play at Orono at 10:00.

Just a reminder all MA athletes can receive a mouthguard for fall sports if they so choose. Simply stop by Dr. Durwin Libby's office on Thursday, August 15th from 1:00-2:00 to receive your free Mouthguard.

If you plan on participating in a fall sport at MA, you can now access the sports paperwork on our web-site. Simply click on the menu tab and then the Athletics icon. Once there, you will find the MA Sports Paperwork folder where you can access either the on-line registration link or the sports forms that you can print. All paperwork must be completed and returned prior to the first practice on August 19.

Attention fall athletes and parents:There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Sunday, August 18th at 6:00 in the MA cafeteria. At least one parent or guardian are required to be in attendance. Cayden Spencer- Thompson's goal was to cap his decorated High School career off in style. On Saturday at the Thornton Academy Cayden did just that. Setting a career mark of 23-9.75 in the long, and triple jumping an amazing 47.10.75. Cayden earned New England titles in each to cap off what certainly has been an incredible career. The Louisville bound senior has set standards that will difficult to break. Best of luck Cayden as you embark on the next portion of your amazing journey. We are all very proud of you!

With time becoming an issue and the inability to agree on a common date the MA athletic teams will hold individual banquets this spring, On Tuesday June 11th the tennis team will meet in the Library at 5:00, and the MA track team will meet in the Cafeteria at 5:30. On Thursday, June 13th the MA softball team will hold their banquet in the MA Cafeteria at 5:00 and the MA baseball will meet in Mr. Libby's room at 5:00. Please come and enjoy the end of the year gatherings with all our teams.

Congratulations to the Mattanawcook Academy girl's tennis team as they capped off another tremendous season with a State Title on Saturday. The undefeated season was completed with an impressive 5-0 victory of Carrabec High School in Lewiston on Saturday. Led by seniors Katey Libby, Emily Tolman, Sydney Jones, Delany Kneeland and Sarah Hanington capped off an amazing High School career with back to back state titles. Way yo go MA Tennis!

Cayden Spencer-Thompson continues to amaze, on Saturday, June 1st while participating in the Class C State Championships held at Mt.Blue High School, he set new state standards in the high, triple and long jump. The Louisville bound senior high jumped 6-11, long jumped 23' 2.75, and then capped it off with an amazing 48' 3.75" triple jump. Cayden's established MA career will come to a close this weekend as he competes in the New England Track and Field Championships that will be held at Thornton Academy in Saco. The meet begins at 10:00. Way to go Cayden!

The Lady Lynx MA tennis team has done it again. An impressive 3-2 victory over rival GSA on Tuesday has garnered the defending Class C State Champions another Northern Maine Class C crown. The team will travel to Lewiston on Saturday to once again try to bring home the gold. The match will begin at 9:00 am at Lewiston HighSchool. Way to go MA tennis!

The MA tennis teams had an impressive weekend as the girls team defeated Orono 5-0 to advance the the Northern Maine Regionals that will be held at Bates College in Lewiston on Tuesday, June 4th at 9:00 am. Way to go ladies! The boy's team battled against GSA only to lose by a narrow 3-2 margin. The amazing match wasn't decided until the final games between senior Alex Brown and GSA's number one. It was an exciting day of tennis at MA. A job well done by both teams.
