Congratulations to the girls soccer team, who defeated #2 seed Warsaw last night in Pittsfield in hard fought, nail biter of a game. With Warsaw’s strong and quick forwards the girls fell behind 2-0 early in the game. After making some quick defensive adjustments, Natalie Cloukey would sneak one in first just over the goal line past the goalie. Vanessa Morse tied it up shortly after with a deep strike off a beautiful through ball by Kalista Lazo. Score was 2 to 2 at the half. Morse would score again in the second half to give us the lead 3 to 2- after left fullback Bree Skidmore won a 50/50 ball and passed to midfielder Dylanie Landry who gained the assist. Warsaw would answer once again to tie it up 3-3. The defensive line Gwen Melvin, Ryleigh Springer and Skidmore played an impressive game against a very tough offense. Special shout out to Bella Kronholm, Rylee Cyr, Hope Grey and Kalista Lazo for their grit and determination to shut down key players of the opponent. The game went right down to the wire. Morse launched a shot to the far right corner from outside the 18 with 17 seconds left to secure the win. The girls should be so proud as this was a very skilled team. The girls are now headed to the championship game against Penobscot Christian on Saturday. GO BOBCATS!

The boys soccer team played a hard fought semifinal game last night against #1 seeded Penobscot Christian, but fell short 2-1. The Bobcats played a great game and held on until the very end. Landon Landry played an amazing game in the goal with some impressive and crucial saves, tallying 15 total. Brady Cox and Mariner Fitch propelled our defense with help from Blake Cloukey, Jacob McNeil and Jakobe Hodsdon. Zach Brehaut scored the Bobcats goal in the first half with an impressive shot. Brehaut was accompanied by Max Fitch and Xandir Springer to help lead the Bobcats offense. Dominic Flewelling added in some amazing hustle and hard work along with Phillip Bryant, LIam McLain, and Isaac Priest. Each and every player should be proud of themselves and how hard they have all played this season. With only 1 or 2 subs each game, the Bobcats left it all on the field each and every game. The address for tomorrow's football game at Camden is 20 Barnestown Road. The game is tomorrow, October 17, at 4pm. The bus will leave MJHS at 12:45 due to potential 15 minute or more construction delays in Searport and many leaf peepers in the area slowing down traffic throughout the trip. GO BOBCATS!

It was a fantastic day for golf at Barnes Brook, and MJHS came away as the Penquis League Runner's Up against tough competition. Leading the way for MJHS was Jakoby Crosby(2nd overall) shooting a 49. Grant McIntyre helped the cause with a 52, Cody Wilcox shot a 60 and Tanner Edwards chipped in with a 61 to finish with a team score of 222. Dustin Hanscom and Isabel Graham also played well for MJHS. Ryan Farnsworth of Ridge View was the boy's medalist with a 44, and Emily Oldenburgh's 52 led the way for the girl's. McIntyre also won the long drive contest, and Oldenburgh won closest to the pin. GO BOBCATS!

The girls soccer team finished their regular season with a 9 to 1 win over Ridge View last Thursday at home. The offense was led by Vanessa Morse with 6 goals, Kalista Lazo netted 2 goals, and Tiawna Rich had her first goal of the season off a penalty kick. Rich, Lazo, Rylee Cyr, Eliza Mclellan, Natalie Cloukey and Taelyn De La Cruz all contributed with assists. The girls played incredibly well as a team really showcasing their passing from the midfield to the front line. The girls defensive line was strong only allowing the opponent three shots on goal. Players got to try multiple positions and work on strategies leading into post-season play. Congratulations girls on a great season and good luck in the playoffs! GO BOBCATS!

The boys soccer team played a hard fought game against Central Thursday afternoon but fell short 5-4. The effort and passion the Bobcats showed this game was amazing and they should be very proud of themselves! Landon Landry did a fantastic job defending our goal making 16 saves. Our defense was led by Blake Cloukey, Jacob McNeil, and Jakobe Hodsdon. Mariner Fitch once again stepped up and played our defensive mid and showed tremendous hustle. Our offense was led by Max Fitch with 4 goals. Zach Brehaut contributed 2 assists and Landry added another. This week the Bobcats prepare for their first playoff game which will take place this coming Saturday. TIme and place TBD. GO BOBCATS!

Due to the rain over the weekend, the MJHS Golf tournament, scheduled for Barnes Brook tomorrow, has been postponed. Please stay tuned as details are worked out for the make up tournament.

Yesterday the MJHS Football Team traveled to Millinocket for their 5th contest of the year. The game was a defensive battle with no one scoring in the first half. Millinocket struck first in the third quarter, going up 6-0. The Bobcats defense stuffed them on the extra point attempt. Both defenses continued to work hard through the rest of the third quarter and most of the fourth. With 1:05 left in the game, the Bobcats found themselves in a fourth and long situation. They dug deep and showed amazing fight on the key play, when Wyatt Keegan hit Ryan Thibodeau on a pass over the middle. Thibodeau outran the Stearns defense to hit pay dirt and tie the game at 6-6. The extra point kick was blocked by Stearns. On the ensuing kickoff, Cooper Jordan kicked the ball deep over the returners head, pinning them with a minute left in the game. The Bobcats defense once again showed amazing grit and stuffed Millinocket on 4 plays to give the ball back to the offense with 20 seconds left. The first play was an incomplete pass. There was a Stearns penalty in the end zone, giving the offense the ball at the 2 yard line. The next play Cooper Jordan took the handoff and kept his feet going, carrying several defenders into the end zone for the go ahead touchdown! This put the Bobcats on top for good, coming out with a 12-6 victory! Defensive leaders were Gabe Lazore who had a touchdown saving tackle, Trent Lyons who stepped up and played a new position, Ashton Dill, Landon Krawietz, Tyler Smith, Cooper Jordan and Gabe Fiske. Offensive leaders were Wyatt Keegan, Ryan Thibodeau, Cooper Jordan, Bennett Harper, Cam Thompson and Ethan Pelkey. Special teams were led by Jordan’s kicking and endless hustle from Landon Krawietz. This game was a perfect example of never giving up and working hard through four quarters. Congratulations Bobcats on a great win and improving to 5-0! GO BOBCATS!

Yesterday afternoon, the Girl's B-soccer team played against SeDoMoCha Middle School on their indoor soccer field. Ryleigh Springer did a great job protecting the goal and communicating with the defense. Miah Clapp, Lacie Felix, Whitney Chenette, Monroe Dube, and Bailey Soucier worked to protect the goal and clear the ball out of the 18 and down the field. Audrie McLellan, Hope Gray, Phebie Melvin, Elsie Fullerton, Emma Howe, Tenley Oliver, and Eliza McLellan did a fantastic job pressuring the ball, making passes, and taking many shots on goal. The team walked away with their second win of the season, 1 to 0. Elsie Fullerton scored the only goal of the game on a penalty kick. GO BOBCATS!

The boys soccer team defeated Ridge View by a score of 9-1. The entire team played an amazing game with no breaks as we had no subs. The boys worked well together passing and moving the ball up the field, which resulted in several shot attempts from several different players. Mariner Fitch stepped up and played great defense along with Jakobe Hodsdon and Jacob McNeil. Landon Landry defended our goal and had 10 stopson 11 Ridge View shots. The offense was led by Max Fitch, who had 4 goals to go along with 4 assists. Zach Brehaut had 3 goals and 2 assists. Xandir Springer had 2 goals and an assist. Phillip Bryant added an assist and was so close to scoring! Liam McLain, Dominic Flewelling, and Isaac Priest all did a great job hustling after the ball and making some great passes up the field. The boys have improved so much this season and certainly showed that this game! GO BOBCATS!

The girls soccer team traveled to Ridgeview last night and won 8 to 0. The offfense was led by Vanessa Morse with four goals, 2 of which were shot from an impressive 20 yards out. Natalie Cloukey and Rylee Cyr each notched a goal, and congratulations to Eliza Mclellan and Ryleigh Springer, each who scored their first goal of the season! Cyr, Tiawna Rich, and Springer all contributed with assists. Taelyn De La Cruz, Leah Stevens and Gwen Melvin on defense held the opponent to only 3 shots on goal. Dylanie Landry and Cyr did a fantastic job in the midfield helping to lead the team as playmakers and move the ball forward to the front line. The girls are definitely turning it up leading into post season play. GO BOBCATS!

The girls soccer team played a hard fought game on Friday at home vs Warsaw. It was a battle between second and third seed. The first half was evenly matched with our defense holding their strong front line from scoring and our offense having multiple shots on goal. Neither team was able to score and it was 0 to 0 at the half. During the second half, Elsie Fullerton scored her first goal of the season off a corner kick by Vanessa Morse and put MJHS on the board first. The girls played hard against a physical and strong team. Two penalty kicks were scored by the the opponent late in the second half to make it 2-1. Even though the girls didn’t come up with the win, they should be very proud of how they played against a fast and aggressive team. The score definitely did not reflect the game. Izzie Morin played an incredible gameIn goal with many diving saves, effective punts, and great communication to teammates. GO BOBCATS!

The boys soccer team defeated Warsaw on Friday 3-2, moving the Bobcats record to 3-4-1. Landon Landry and Xandir Springer once again did a great job defending our goal, stopping 15+ shots on goal and only allowing 2. The offense was led by Zach Brehaut's 2 goals and 1 assist to Landon Landry, who also scored a goal. The Bobcats were able to put several shots on net and overall played a great game! Only 2 more regular season games before we move onto the playoffs! Go Bobcats!

The boys soccer team came away with a victory over Ridge View 8-4. It was a well played game all around for the Bobcats as some players were moved into new positions. Our goal was defended by Landon Landry and Max Fitch who both played well, stopping several shots on goal. The defense was fueled by Brady Cox and Mariner Fitch controlling the middle with Jakobe Hodsdon and Jacob McNeil defending the wings. Offensively, Max Fitch led the way with 5 goals and 2 assists, followed by Zach Brehaut with 2 goals and 1 assist, Mariner Fitch with one goal and Brady Cox with 1 assist. Phillip Bryant and Xandir springer added in some great offensive effort with good runs and scoring opportunities. Liam McLain, Isaac Preist, and Dominic Flewelling put forth great all around effort. GO BOBCATS!

The girls soccer team pulled out another impressive win last night over Ridge View 7 to 1. The girls' strength in passing and communicating helped them to have over 20 shots on goal. The offense was led by Vanessa Morse and Kalista Lazo with 2 goals each, Natalie Cloukey and Khloe Maris each with one goal, and Taelyn De La Cruz scoring her first goal of the season. Goals were assisted by Vanessa Morse, Dylanie Landry, Rylee Cyr, Taiwan Rich and Miah Clapp. Ryleigh Springer had her A team debut in goal and Izzie Morin did a great job on defense. It was a great game for players to try different positions. GO BOBCATS!

Due to a bus issue, the Girl's B soccer game at Central has been moved to a 4:30 start time. The bus will depart between 3:15 and 3:30. The athletes will stay with their coach until it's time to leave.
