On Monday, a very tall Ridge View team came to MJHS to take on the Girl's A team in their season opener. The first half showed that Ridge View was not to be taken lightly, as the game was back and forth the entire half, with the Bobcats taking a four point lead into the locker room at halftime. During the second half the speed and relentless team defense of MJHS prevailed and led to lots of easy hoops in transition. The Bobcats came away with the 33-22 victory thanks to a full team effort and contributions from all 12 players. Rylee Cyr, Vanessa Morse, and Izzy Morin all scored some timely baskets to lead the team offensively. GO BOBCATS!

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the town of Lincoln has had to move the caroling, parade and downtown lighting to Friday December 8th at 4:30pm. We need to know if we have enough students to participate. Can you please let Miss Kinkade know if your child will be singing? Thank you!
(Breakfast with Santa will still be this Saturday the 2nd).

Last night MJHS Girls B team had their season opener at Ridge View. Tensions were high as it was the first game, and the first away game ever for many 6th graders. We fell to Ridge View 27-17, but fought hard. All eleven players contributed to the game. The leading scorer for the Bobcats was Elsie Fullerton with 9 points. Emma Howe, Tenley Oliver, Paetyn Rich, and Isabel Graham each scored 2 points. Khloe Maris did a great job as point guard and hustled the whole game. Our next game is Wednesday at home against Penobscot Christian. GO BOBCATS

Last night the MJHS Football team played their final game of the season under the lights in front of a great home crowd. 8th graders were honored before the game and once again did a great job leading the team. Their hard work paid off with a 26-6 victory and closed out the season with a 7-1 record. This eighth grade group of 20 which consists of: Maddox Arthers, Eric Ayotte, Ashton Dill, Gabe Fiske, Wyatt Flewelling, Bennett Harper, Levi Hennequin, Cooper Jordan, Wyatt Keegan, Landon Krawietz, Gabe Lazore, Trent Lyons, Koby McCain, Adam Paradis, Ethan Pelkey, Jack Pelkey, Tyler Smith, Ryan Thibodeau, Jimmy Vachon, and Ayden Voisine will be severely missed next year, but we look forward to watching them at the next level as they grow into Lynx Football Players. A big thanks to all of the players for all of their hard work and dedication which contributed to a very successful season. A special thank you to Mrs. Pelkey and the ladies in the cafeteria for washing the water bottles, Mrs. Phillips for announcing the 8th graders and Lyddie Gray, who had an absolutely phenomenal performance singing the National Anthem! Congratulations on a great season Bobcats! GO BOBCATS!

The MJHS girls soccer team won the Penquis League Large School championship last night at Husson University under the lights. The girls were victorious over the undefeated #1 seed Penobscot Christian school by a score of 3 to 0. Our team started off strong when left wing Natalie Cloukey sent a through-ball up to striker Kalista Lazo who beat a defender up the middle and fired one into the net. Mid-fielders Tiawna Rich, Taelyn De La Cruz, Dylanie Landry, Khloe Maris, Phebie Melvin and Eliza Mclellan were spot-on in their hustle, and passing to the forwards; their determination to win 50/50 balls was unmatched. Rylee Cyr and Hope Gray were instrumental in handling the difficult task of marking the opponent’s strong and fast striker. Midway through the second half, Vanessa Morse lofted a corner kick across the goal line which Cloukey got a foot on and sent it up to the left corner of the net. The score was 2 to 0 at the half. In the second half Morse received a pass from Lazo and fired a shot that bounced off the post. Morse got her own rebound and bodied the ball into the net to bring the score to 3 to 0. The defensive line was solid the entire game. Ryleigh Springer, Gwen Melvin, Bree Skidmore, Bella Kronholm and Leah Stevens were a wall against their quick front line. Izzy Morin played an incredible game in goal with 13 saves on 15 shots on goal. Players Miah Clapp, Elsie Fullerton, and Lacie Felix contributed their efforts late in the second half to seal the deal for the Bobcats. This win truly was a team effort. The girls had an incredible season and improved every single game. They represented MJHS with pride and sportsmanship, and came home the champs. Congratulations girls on an awesome season ! GO BOBCAT!
